About Lubbock Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Lubbock was established in 1941, and empowered with the responsibility and authority to maintain the Public Housing Program for the City of Lubbock, Texas. The Section 8 Program was created by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.
The Housing Authority of the City of Lubbock is a public agency that provides subsidized housing to low and moderate income individuals and families. The Authority administers two distinct housing programs, Public Housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher.
